Breakfast?

Signs Without Bullet
Holes Are Rare
Perhaps drinking until 4am was not the best of ideas on the night before checking out of the hotel. We didn't wake until 09:30 and the 11:00 checkout time came round far too fast. I had possibly my worst ever hangover and was definitely not safe to ride. Anyway, we set off and made it to McD's, without incident, for a coffee and orange juice each. I had a cheeseburger for breakfast.
We decided to visit the motorcycle museum in Salt Lake City, which was 124 miles away. After getting fuel, we stopped at a rest area along the way on the I-80. My hangover was still in full effect at that point and Bill wasn't feeling too clever either.

Hangover Persists
Our next stop was in Salt Lake City, where we got lost by following the satnav. It was my fault as I had entered the wrong address. I located the museum as a Point Of Interest on the satnav, which made finding the museum easy. Unfortunately, when we got there, the museum was shut down and looked like it had been that way for a while. We gave up on Salt Lake City and reminded ourselves that we should steer clear of large towns and cities. Still in Salt Lake City, we eventually found a coffee shop called Raw Bean (http://www.rawbeancoffee.com/) and had one of their free biscotti, which are homemade by the owner's mother. We sat outside for a while and decided to continue on to Evanston in Wyoming, which was another 80 or so miles up the I-80. I booked the motel 6 on the Internet, while still at Raw Bean. I also noticed that my cash passport card appeared to have a charge of $75 dollars at a liquor store in Lodi. As we drank 2 gallons of beer between us at the Lodi Cycle Bowl, I can assure you that I did not spend $75 on liquor and will follow the matter up with the card company (edit: turns out gas stations charge an arbitrary $75 to your card and only take what you actually use later. Apologies to Lodi Motel 6).
The I-80 Is A Long Road

We made our way out of Salt Lake City before the rush hour began. It was just after 16:00. I was daydreaming and missed the I-80 splitting so we had a brief detour while the satnav got us back on route. Our next stop was in Coalville for fuel and then again shortly after to take photos at a view point over Echo Reservoir.
After checking in at our motel and went over to the Bear Town Restaurant for food. Bill had grilled cheese (grilled cheese sandwich) and fries and I had a Jalapeno burger with fries and side salad. My burger was a little cold but the chips were nice and not the usual McD type.

Evanston By Dusk
Returning to the motel, we popped in to a store and bought a road map of Western America. We decided to do some washing and sat in the laundry area waiting for the washing and drying to complete. At least this gave me time to catch up on the diary. At 22:33, I was still not feeling 100%, as a result of alcohol abuse. The bike odometer read 45817, which means we have ridden 217 miles this day and 1441 since we picked up the bikes.
